The term \"hidden gem\" was invented for establishments like this.
My wife and I have had lunch at Mill Lane Bistro a few times now. Gastronomy-wise, without a doubt, this place has improved the area between West End Lane and Shoot Up Hill by a factor of at least 10.
The prices are reasonable, the food is seasonal, fresh & simply delicious, with classics such as lovely tender flank steak or fragrant moules-frites acting as reliable staple dishes. The wine list is quite extensive, and even in the lower price-range, I have never been disappointed, whatever choice of wine I made.
Cyril is a charming, friendly, knowledgeable, professional host.
Can\'t ask for more - seriously, absolutely 100% recommended.

That place is the bomb...flavors exploding in your mouth...and the wine, tremendous...it\'s as good as it gets!

Am cautiously in two minds about writing this review - because I enjoyed the Mill Lane Bistro so much I don\'t want it to become so popular that I can no longer get a table - yet it at the same time I wish this lovely restaurant every possible success!

In my humble opinion the Mill Lane Bistro is practically faultless in every way.

Very classic French food - but often with a unique twist to raise the bar on one of the great cuisines. The service and attention were excellent and Cyril and his team clearly care very much about their customers happiness.

The wine list is just incredible too - with some really spectacular wines available by the glass.

It\'s no surprise that the managers are also the owners, because it comes across in their attention and care.

If I had any negative comments at all - the WiFi password is ludicrously long.

Last but not least, for food of this quality, the prices are extremely reasonable.

Been here three times recently after reading \"beardies \" review in the HaM and High recently.
Cosy , friendly , place good reliable food, escargots our particular favourite , then sometimes bar poele, or moules, the chocolate duo is a perfect end almost sensuously enjoyable.
Nothing but good things to say about this place, service is efficient and personal by the owner and his manager

I was a bit wary after the last review written on this site, but I have to say we had the most fantastic evening. The food and the wine were great. Really great French classics, brilliantly executed. We will be going again.
